Christmas

Is anyone else anxious for Christmas? For some reason, this year I'm really excited about it. Not about the presents or even the shopping, but about the decorations. I just love looking at all the lights. I enjoy putting up the decorations, AFTER IT'S ALL DONE, but it's alot of work!

As a young girl, putting up the Christmas tree and decorating it was a big event around our house. Back then, everyone decorated with sparkly garland and silver tinsel. My mother tortured us kids though with the tinsel. She would only allow us to put from 1-5 strands on at a time! Mother how could you!!??

Anyway, one of my favorite memories of Christmas was laying underneath the tree once it was decorated and just looking up at all the lights. I would dream for hours in that position.

What are some of your favorite Christmas memories?

  1. Love the picture by Tammy. You are right, it is really cute. As to Christmas, I am not yet thinking too much about it. Let me survive Thanksgiving first, and then I will begin the panic about Christmas. I do love the lights, and the smell of pine and cinnamon in the house though...I suppose I should pull out the the Christmas box and get a started soon.

  2. One of my favorite memories of Christmas is when I got a big stuffed giraffe. I loved that thing I dragged it everywhere. I also remember waking up at 4:30 in the morning egaer for Santa to arrive he usually came in the middle of the night so when I got up at 4:30 my stocking was full of goodies. We always left him cookis on the table and he left crumbs in the morning. As a family we turned on music and had a pancake breakfast. I also remember Christmas eve services at church when we sang holding a candle up. I love Christmas. Hugz L

  3. My favorite memory of Christmas was being at my Grandma Susie's house. She taught me how to knit and crochet. She was born and raised in Belgium, so on Christmas morning we made Belgium breads and candies. She also seen I had some potential in art and bought me my first art supplies. I was about 5 and have been drawing and painting ever since. I can't wait to decorate the tree and make bread this year with all of my grand children. I love Christmas and being with my family/
